The different types of stroller

If you have decided that it's time to get a stroller for your fast-growing child, you will quickly discover that picking out a stroller isn't as straightforward as you originally thought. There are many different types of strollers on the market, and it is quite easy to get confused. It is too easy to pick out a stroller that might be less than optimal for your child's needs.

To make sure that you select the stroller that best fits your child's age and needs, you need to familiarize yourself with the different types of strollers available on the market. Each general type has a specific specialization and different types are suited to kids of different ages. It is best to read reviews of the different stroller models before making a purchase.

Infant frames: If your child is below six months old, most stroller types are unsafe for your child. This type of stroller is a simple frame you can mount your child's car seat on. Since this is just a frame stroller, you can easily carry your child around in his or her car seat and then position the seat into the stroller frame when you're ready to push your baby's stroller around. This is very convenient, safe, and comfortable for both you and your baby.  After around nine months, your child will be ready to graduate from his or her baby car seat  to another stroller type.

All-in-one stroller:  This is a unit that includes a stroller, a base, and a car seat for infants. Once your child gets big enough at around six months, you can have him or her use the stroller with the car seat removed. The downside to this option is that unlike the stroller frame above, this option requires folding and unfolding in between pushing your baby's stroller.

Combo strollers: These strollers were designed to keep up with your child as your baby matures. It originally starts off as a bassinet or flat stroller and ends up in an upright position. You can even use a car seat with this type of stroller-you just need to get an adapter.

Jogging strollers: If you have an active family, these strollers have you and baby covered. With the aid of air-filled tires that are bigger than normally, jogging strollers are equipped to handle the bumpy roads of the city. Jogging strollers come in many varieties. Some are foldable, while others are more bulky. Some are heavier than others.

Umbrella strollers: If you need a straightforward, no-nonsense stroller, you can't go wrong with an umbrella stroller. Light and easy to put away, umbrella strollers are just like umbrellas-use them and put them away. No hassles.
